1 year back when I started using sketch, I was blown away by the power of this tool. Took me about a week to get started and ever since I’ve been using it to design everything from Mobile Interfaces to Landing pages.

Let’s get started

  1. Open sketch and create a new document. Press A & make a 1024 x 1024 artboard.
  2. Press R & create a rectangle of size 12 x 6. Zoom in to 6400%
  3. Select the rectangle & click edit. Click the first point on top left & drag it by 2 pixels to the right. Now click top right bezier point & drag it by 2 pixels to the left.

From the bottom left, click on the edge to make a new bezier point & drag it to the right till the intersection of horizontal & vertical white lines in the background as shown in the following gif.

Select the top corners & round them by 1 pixel. Scale it by 1000%

5. Make another rectangle of size 165 x 195. Change the radius to 26, remove the borders & change the color to #222222.

6. Duplicate the layer we made in step 2 and flip it upside down.

7. Make a rectangle of size 120 x 135 & place it inside the layer we made in step 5.

8. Make an oval shape of size 107 x 107, duplicate it and group both the layers. Select both the oval shapes, remove the fill & change border to 9. Change the color to a gradient (FC3069 to EC5640). Change the lower oval blending to “Overlay”. Select the upper layer of the two & click on the settings near border. Change ends to circular, Gap to 2000 & Dash to 200.

Duplicate the groups we made before. Change the size to 85 x 85 & color to 61FE00. Select settings near border, Change ends to circular, Gap to 2000 & Dash to 130.

Duplicate again, change size to 63 x 63. & color to 00D3DD. Select settings near border, Change ends to circular, Gap to 2000 & Dash to 60. Center all the 3 groups so that they are aligned properly.

Watch the video below if you’re not sure about the last part.

Congratulations! You just made an apple watch in pure vector using sketch.
